Michael Baccala
|
 |
 |
Mike's
background includes a mix of engineering and biomedical research. As an early
employee at Ascend, Michael was responsible for multivariate positions
including International Customer Support, Special Engineering Assignment at
Microsoft, Systems Engineering Supervisor, Product Manager, Carrier Sales and
Business Development Director. After Lucent Technology acquired Ascend, Michael
managed an international team of Technical Sales Managers responsible for
bringing industry-leading, voice-over-packet technology to carriers, worldwide.
In addition to crafting two startup ventures of his own, Michael is currently
consulting for several "new-technology" companies and providing technical
due-diligence for investors, domestic and international.
At the
University of California, Davis, Michael was on a team studying transmission of
HIV across the placenta in primate species. He accepted a Medical Informatics
position in Medical Pathology and then managed IT at the UCDavis Cancer Center
in Sacramento before joining Ascend Communications in Alameda.
He is also
the Volunteer Coordinator for the Solano County Sheriff's Office Emergency
Services Response Team.

David Peak
|

Dave
is an experienced Corporate Development executive and an expert in corporate
planning, strategy, and driving execution of such strategies – both for
entrepreneurial companies as well as Fortune 1000 firms. At Aftermind, Inc., a
software company selling after-sale relationship solutions to players like
General Electric and Visa, he led business development efforts and managed a
business development staff as well as an external sales channel.
Previously,
Dave worked at Sapient Corporation (SAPE), a $4 billion end-to-end web
development firm. Prior to Sapient, Dave was a key executive with the Kalchas
Group, an entrepreneurial strategy-consulting firm founded by ex-McKinsey and
ex-Bain professionals based in London. There, Dave was responsible for the
Kalchas ecommerce practice and initiated and implemented start-up of a new San
Francisco office in 1997.
Dave holds
an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School and while at Kellogg, he Co-chaired the
Entrepreneur/Venture Capital Club. He holds a BA in Economics from Middlebury
College, and a GC from the London School of Economics.

Arthur Vera

Arthur
Vera has over 20 years of experience in the health care information technology
industry, with specific expertise in business development and information
technology planning. Mr. Vera is well known and respected among health care
payer and provider organizations nationwide through his history with Adesso
Healthcare Technology Services Inc., Science Applications International
Corporation (SAIC), Transition Systems Inc., and HBO & Company. Mr. Vera
was a recipient of the Ford Foundation Fellowship at Harvard University, where
he received a Masters of Education, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree at
the University of Illinois, Chicago.

William C. Wright
|

William
C. Wright is currently a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he has spent
the past four years in the Transaction Services group specializing in mergers
and acquisitions related activities. Prior to joining PwC, Bill was a Vice
President at a $215 million leveraged buyout firm focused on buying and turning
around companies in financial difficulty. Bill's professional career in banking
and finance spans eighteen years and includes lending, due diligence and
investment positions at Bank of America, Pacific Venture Finance, Daiwa Bank,
Recovery Equity Investors and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He has also
served on the City of Berkeley's Loan Administration Board, focused on
providing low interest economic development-related financing to small
businesses, and the City of Berkeley's Citizen Budget Review Committee. Bill
also was a founder of the Citywide Revolving Loan Fund. He has taught
accounting and finance at Golden Gate University, earned a Masters of
International Management at Thunderbird Graduate School and a B.S. in Business
Administration at San Jose State University.
